Announcing Two New Keynotes For Austin 2015 From Ashley Hathaway of IBM Watson Group and Lori MacVittie of F5 Network
23 Sep 2015We are pleased to announce two new keynotes for APIStrat Austin 2015. We have been looking for new keynotes that reflect the growing conversations going on across the API space, we feel these two keynote speakers represent this mission.
APIStrat is always looking for honest stories from the people who are in the trenches at leading companies, and as we were looking through call for papers submissions, we though Ashley's story stood out. We are please to invite her to the main stage for Austin.

Ashley Hathaway is a product manager who believes great design is great business. She has a passion for empowering teams to ship awesome products that delight stakeholders and users. She focuses on telling stories from holistic idea to tactile execution, and her process is rooted in scalability and collaboration. As part of a strong team she helps to prioritize, drive requirements, and realize the vision of a successful product for the IBM Watson Developer Cloud in Austin, Texas.
Machine learning is impacting almost every aspect of the API industry, and IBM is taking the lead, making what Ashley is doing, something worth sharing in Austin.
Beyond machine learning, we were excited to get a leader in the cloud computing space, who is leading evangelism efforts over at F5 Networks.
Lori MacVittie (@lmacvittie), the Principal Technical Evangelist at F5 Networks
Lori MacVittie is a subject matter expert on emerging technology responsible for education and evangelism across F5’s entire product suite. MacVittie has extensive development and technical architecture experience in both high-tech and enterprise organizations, in addition to network and systems administration expertise. Prior to joining F5, MacVittie was an award-winning technology editor at Network Computing Magazine. She holds a B.S. in Information and Computing Science from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, and an M.S. in Computer Science from Nova Southeastern University, and is an O’Reilly author.
APIs are impacting every aspect of our online worlds, and Software Defined Networking (SDN) is just the latest layer of the Internet to see APIs making significant inroads--something Lori has her finger on the pulse of.
Ashley and Lori are just the two latest keynotes we are adding to the mix, there are more to come in the next week or two. We are also still processing the almost 100 call for papers we received, with the session chairs, and are planning to announce the schedule in early October.
